Extensive faux painting creates the illusion of a provincial European farmhouse, and masks architectural transitions in scale that were displeasing to the owners. Complex rustic painted finishes and custom hand-hewn cherry furnishings express a sense of comfort and relaxation in contrast to the owner’s urban world. Natural stone and Oriental carpets influenced selection of many of the color schemes, blending slate, teal, moss green, burgundy, and ochre.
